About Camilo

Camilo Vasquez is a professional cellist and pianist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering live music for weddings, private events, and personalized music lessons. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance, Camilo brings a versatile background in classical music, jazz, modern styles, chamber music, and event performance.

Whether performing solo cello with backing tracks, collaborating in a string ensemble, or teaching students one-on-one, Camilo’s approach is expressive, polished, and personal. His goal is to bring music that feels meaningful, elegant, and memorable to every performance, while helping students build confidence, strong technique, and a lifelong connection to music.

Musical Background

Camilo began studying piano at age five and started cello in elementary school, growing up in a musical family that shaped his love for performance and teaching. Over the years, he has developed a wide-ranging musical voice through classical training, chamber music, orchestral performance, jazz, improvisation, and contemporary styles.

During his studies at the University of North Texas, Camilo built a strong foundation in cello performance while continuing to explore different musical styles and collaborative settings. That versatility allows him to move comfortably between traditional classical repertoire, modern cello covers, wedding music, jazz-influenced playing, and live event performance.

Performance and Teaching

As a performer, Camilo provides live music for weddings, cocktail hours, proposals, private events, recording projects, and ensemble performances throughout DFW. His services include solo cello, solo cello with backing tracks, piano, string duo, string trio, string quartet, and custom small ensemble options.

As a teacher, Camilo works with cello students from beginner through advanced levels and also teaches beginner piano. His teaching emphasizes relaxed technique, healthy playing habits, strong fundamentals, musical expression, and confidence. Whether a student is preparing for auditions, improving in school orchestra, or beginning music for the first time, Camilo’s goal is to make lessons supportive, productive, and inspiring. In addition to his private studio, Camilo teaches at Prime Music Institute, Avalon School of Music, and Richardson ISD.
